Substitute Addictions Counselor Pool
Prairie Center is developing a substitute addictions counselor pool to work during extended absences of our current full-time counseling staff. This is an excellent opportunity for trained and licensed counselors who wish to work as needed on a short term basis. Individual and/or group counseling assignments can range from one week to several weeks depending on the length of absence needed to be filled.
A Bachelor's degree and CADC license are required. Master's degree in counseling and/or social work or related work experience is preferred. Successful background clearance is required through Department of Children and Family Services (CANTS) for all facilities and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (NCIC) if working in our residential facility in Champaign.
Candidates should familiarize themselves with the mission, purpose and values of Prairie Center and be able to provide examples of a client-centered approach to addiction, treatment, and recovery from past work experience or educational achievement.
Work hours are typically 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday with possible evening group activity depending on assignment. Paid training is provided on Prairie Center electronic notes system. Assignment pay rate is $60 for any part of 4 hours and $120 for any part of 4 to 8 hours.
