Media Partnerships Highlight Addiction Issues, Successes
Lights, camera, action! It's been a busy couple of months here at Prairie Center. We were honored to join forces with the teams at WCIA TV, Fox 55/27 News, and WILL radio for some incredible coverage on addiction issues and some truly inspiring stories of success.
A 30 minute WCIA feature, Road to Recovery, aired in late March and shared the incredible stories of Dustin Brown and Christina Allison overcoming their addictions to heroin.
Anchor Katherine Tellez took on a two-part series on Fox Illinois 55/27 in May, sharing the incredible 50-year addiction and recovery journey of Gary Williams. You won't want to miss viewing both Part 1 and Part 2.
On May 16, our CEO Gail Raney was featured on WILL's The 21st, discussing the impact that Illinois' budget impasse is having on substance abuse treatment efforts.
This Thursday on WILL AM-580 and FM-90.9, Morning Edition host Brian Moline will air the remarkable story of Jaime Smith, a St. Joseph mother and professional whose addition started with prescription pain pills. And incredible advocate for recovery today, you won't want to miss her story. Tune in or live stream around 7:30AM June 1 at AM-580 or FM-90.9.
Finally, Fox's Katherine Tellez isn't done yet: In July, she'll bring you the powerful story of Elisabeth Guffey, whose transformation took her from prostitute and addict to now nurturing mother, disciple of Christ, and recovery advocate. We'll update you on time and date in a future e-newsletter.
