Gail Raney,
Chief Executive Officer

Gail joined the Prairie Center team in 2002 and brings over 20 years of experience in the education and substance abuse fields.

In her 15 years with Prairie Center, she has worn many hats, including Administrative Assistant, Assistant Director/CQI Coordinator, Interim Program Director, Chief Operating Officer, and now today as our Chief Executive Officer. Prior to her work with us, Gail was an elementary school teacher in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Today as CEO, Gail oversees operations at all three Prairie Center facilities in east central Illinois. In her role, she serves as a coalescing bridge between the clinical and administrative activities of the organization. As a certified Change Leader, Gail brings extensive training in compliance, quality improvement, program management and administration, evaluation, grantwriting, and change management. She uses that training to work closely with the Prairie Center team to constantly monitor and improve our clinical processes and services, upgrade technology, implement evidence-based practices, develop evaluation and performance measurements, and create staff development and training opportunities.

Gail earned her Bachelor's degree in education from Western Illinois University and her Master's in Public Administration with a nonprofit concentration from the University of Colorado. In addition to her work with Prairie Center, she also serves on the board of the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health.
