Can't I just go to Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings?

Many people are able to successfully address and manage the disease of addiction through participation in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or other Twelve Step support groups. For others, however, the disease may have progressed to a point where the added structure, support and clinical services provided in a more formal inpatient or outpatient addiction treatment program are needed.

Prairie Center does not offer detoxification options. MORE INFO HERE ABOUT WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED DETOX

How long does inpatient or outpatient treatment last?

Addiction treatment programs and services at Prairie Center are not defined by a number of days, but rather by individual needs. Our individualized approach allows patients to advance through treatment at a pace based on their specific situation and clinical milestones.

How does Prairie Center view addiction treatment for men and women?

There are times when men and women can benefit from participating in treatment programming together, but there also times when gender-specific addiction treatment can benefit recovery. Prairie Center offers gender-specific addiction treatment in our inpatient programs and in our outpatient programs.

Do you treat anything besides drug and alcohol addiction?

Many people seeking addiction treatment also struggle with mental health issues like grief, depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder. The combination of addiction and mental health issues is known as "co-occurring disorders" and is quite common. Our medical staff and counselors are skilled at addressing many co-occurring disorders and will coordinate your care with your other healthcare providers.
